'TUG' races a 1977 Kawasaki Z650. He contested all rounds of the Hartwell MCC series in 2009 and 2010, finishing 1st overall in 2009 and 2nd overall in 2010. More recently he has only riden at major Historic Events, including the Island Classic, Southern Classic and Victorian Historic Titles. He finished 3rd at the Victorian Historic Titles in 2011, 6th in 2012 and 4th at this years Victorian Historic Titles.
The bike's chassis is a stock 650 frame, braced and strenthened. It has ZZR 41mm forks, emulators,revalved and custom springs, a GSX Katana swingarm with YSS shocks. 1992 ZZR 600 wheels, with a ZZR 600 rear disc and caliper. Custom 305mm "Dman engineered" front discs with Brembo calipers. A standard Z650 tank and side covers, with a modified Z650 ducktail. Tingate Bars and custom billet alloy triple clamps.
The engine is a Z750E1 with a stock 750 crank, polished, lightened and balanced with custom Carrillo Rods. It has custom 72mm pistons and sleeves to modified barrells at 880cc, a ported head, Farrera stainless oversized valves and custom made cam shafts. An undercut 5 speed gearbox, Dyna 2000 ignition, total loss and Keihin CR 31mm smoothbore carburetters. An Ape clutch with custom pressure plate and springs, an 11.0" x 5 3/4" H.I.S. oil cooler and a 4-2-1 Megacycle exhaust with tappered headers.
