The club also offers a social membership to those enthusiasts owning other types of bikes.

We meet on the 3rd Wednesday of each month, from 6:30pm at Commercial Hotel 344 Nicholson street Fitzroy. We also have a club ride on the Sunday following the Wednesday meeting every month. See web site for details.

.....our aims & objectives........

  • To work with other motorcycling bodies;
  • To promote the Kawasaki 'Z' series motorcycles;
  • To promote and improve the public image of motorcyclists;
  • To assist and be part of a National and International Kawasaki 'Z' Owners Club.

........in the beginning.................

The Kawasaki Z Owners Club Inc was established in 1992, 20 years after the release of the legendary Kawasaki Z900 motorcycle. This bike, and later the Z1000, changed the face of motorcycles and set the production standard for the Japanese industry even to present day.

At one stage the bike was the world’s quickest motorcycle (in drag racing), the world’s fastest motorcycle (at Bonneville) and one of the best selling street machines ever produced. Kawasaki Z owners have used their machines for everything from hill climbing to side hack motor crossing. The Kawasaki Z is a touring mount, road racer, endurance racer, commuter, café racer-just about anything you can imagine it to be.

The bike has immortalized in Australia in iconic movies such as Mad Max & Stone. Our club also accepts memberships from other 'Z' series bikes from the same period. Most of our members are mature, enthusiasts from all walks of life.

.............through the years.................

The Z Owners club has had some great achievements over the years including pulling off the biggest motorcycling event in the southern hemisphere at the time. The 20th anniversary of the Stone run with approximately 12,000 bikes was held in conjunction with the Vietnam Veterans and was a huge success raising funds for legacy.

This great run was followed up with other great achievements including ‘Special Kids Day’ an event that ran for some years in association with Victoria Police, local CFA, SES & MRA and an annual Mad Max ride day.

Over the years the club has supported and worked in association with a large number of events such as the annual Toy Run, WIMA Pink Ribbon Ride, and the annual Eastern Motorcycle Club Confusion Rally.

......................to the future..............

The Z Owners Club has an objective to promote the Kawasaki Z Series and their impact on the motor cycling history. The club has a long history of working with other clubs and bodies; our aim is to continue this tradition. Along with other enthusiast clubs, the Z Owners Club is always trying to improve the public image of motorcyclists.

As well as continuing with support for annual charity events mentioned earlier, the Z Owners Club has now become registered to raise funds for the Good Friday Appeal, with the first event held in 2008. During the past years the club has raised over $100,000 for this wonderful cause.The club is always on the hunt for even more sponsors and working to make the event the largest motorcycle event in the Good Friday Appeal.
